Two people from Texas are faced with drug trafficking charges after getting stopped for minor traffic violations in Morgan County.
According to the Priceville Police Department, police initiated a vehicle stop on Interstate 65 southbound at the 334 mile marker about 5 a.m. Friday.
When they made contact with the occupants, 30-year-old Rosie Victoria Swayzer and 31-year-old Terrance Lee Kyles, a narcotics field investigation began.
Police say a probable cause search of the vehicle resulted in locating more than a pound of synthetic opiate in liquid form, a quantity of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
U.S. currency in excess of $39,000 and the vehicle being used for the transport and sales of the illicit drugs are pending condemnation proceedings.
As a result, Swayzer and Kyles were arrested and taken into custody.
Both were charged with trafficking illegal drugs, unlawful possession of marijuana, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Swayzer and Kyles were transported to the Morgan County Jail where each were booked and held on $820,000 bonds.
