A man and a woman have been arrested after a watch dealer was assaulted during a robbery at a south-west London jewellers and found dead a day later.
Oliver White, 27, was put in a chokehold as two men snatched a number of high value watches from the shop in Richmond on Saturday.
Mr White’s parents said the attack had been “terrifying” and that he was suffering “anguish and distress” after CCTV footage was shared on social media. His death is not thought to be suspicious.
A woman and man, both in their 30s, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to rob. The woman has been released under investigation and the man bailed pending further inquiries.
Mr White, from Shepperton in Surrey, was described by his family as a “beautiful, funny, loyal boy”.
Det Ch Inspector Scott Mather said: “First and foremost, our thoughts remain with Mr White’s family and friends at this unimaginably difficult time.
“We would ask that they are given the privacy they need to grieve.
“We are working tirelessly to get them the answers they need and are making good progress with our investigation.”
He added: “We urge anyone who has information that could assist us to get in touch as soon as possible.”
