More students than ever before are in paid employment during university, with everyday costs like rent and bills topping the list of financial concerns.
But the most likely group to be working while studying are those who have previously been in the care system, according to research from the Higher Education Policy Institute.
Leah Flint is a care-experienced student and she worked 15-hour days during the summer months to support herself and her brother.
A Scottish government spokesperson said more than 2,000 care-experienced students will receive a £9,000 bursary this year.
