Beaumont — A 42-year-old man is in jail on charges linked to what Beaumont police call a lengthy investigation into narcotics trafficking.
Sterling Johnson is held on three drug charges and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
Beaumont Police Department’s SWAT and Narcotics Detectives carried out a search warrant Thursday at a home in the 3800 block of Waco Street.
During the search, detectives discovered suspected cocaine, methamphetamine, Xanax, and a handgun. They arrested Sterling Johnson and transported to the Jefferson County Jail for three counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.
“The Beaumont Police Department is committed to combating narcotics trafficking and ensuring the safety of our community,” said BPD in a release. “This operation highlights the ongoing efforts of our officers to address drug-related crime.
