Budget committee also plans extra €70 million for Erasmus+

The European Parliament is set to push for an extra €242 million for the 2025 budget of the EU’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme, and an extra €70m for its Erasmus+ programme, which funds student exchanges.

These positions are relative to the draft budget proposed by the European Commission, and are in contrast to the stances adopted by the Council of the EU governments, which is seeking cuts of €400m for Horizon Europe and €295m for Erasmus+.
