Feds: 6 sentenced for roles in trafficking drugs through dark web organization
Six people have been sentenced to prison for their roles in a large dark web drug trafficking organization, the United States attorney for the Southern District of Ohio said.According to court documents, the six people, all from Houston, Texas, distributed significant quantities of methamphetamine — pressed to look like legitimate Adderall pills — over the dark web.Investigators said the transactions occurred from July 2019 through December 2020, with more than 11 kilograms of methamphetamine sold in that time.Court documents said the group shipped the drugs nationwide, including into the Southern District of Ohio, using the U.S. Postal Service.The following people were sentenced Tuesday for their roles in the conspiracy:Hung Ahn Huy Phung: 84 months in prisonJohn G. - Chazton Harris: 74 months in prison
A federal grand jury indicted the six defendants in June 2021, while the final defendant, Tran, was sentenced to prison at the end of September.
