ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – In a new report the Bernalillo County District Attorney’s Office says the percentage of criminal cases involving fentanyl in Bernalillo County increased from 52.5% in 2022 to 71.1% in 2023.

This comes after other county officials went before state lawmakers saying New Mexico needs to do more. The DA suggests setting up rehab and detox programs in MDC, along with having probation officers work with clinicians to coordinate individual addiction treatment.
