Five people, including two children, have been killed in a crash on the M6.
A man, woman and two children from Glasgow travelling in a Toyota were pronounced dead at the scene, alongside the driver of a Skoda, who was from Cambridgeshire, Cumbria Police said.
The collision happened on the M6 Northbound, past Tebay services, on Tuesday at 16:04 BST.
A third child, who was in the Toyota, was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle by air ambulance with serious injuries.
The M6 Northbound shut from J36 to J39 on Tuesday afternoon and reopened fully in the early hours.
Specially trained officers are supporting the families of those involved, police say.
