AUBURN (WGME) – An Auburn man was arrested on drug trafficking charges on Friday.
The Auburn Police Department served search warrants at two properties in Auburn on Friday.
A search of the two properties revealed around27 grams of cocaine base, 6.5 grams of cocaine hcl, 15 MDMA (ecstasy) pills, scales, packaging materials, and over $500 in suspected drug proceeds.
A ballistics vest and a handgun was also seized from a property.
Auburn Police say thatJose Mota, 39-years-old, of Auburn, was arrested as a result and is now charged withAggravated Trafficking Scheduled Drugs and Illegal Possession of a Firearm.
Mota’s bail has been set at $25,000 cash by a bail commissioner.
Auburn Police say the drug trafficking charge was aggravated due to Mota being in possession of a firearm, which is he prohibited from owning or possessing.
Police say that Mota has along criminal history, which includes felony convictions in multiple states.
