During the night, in Medellin (Colombia), he was captured Louis Belvedere, a fugitive since December 2020 and included in the list of dangerous fugitives of the Ministry of the Interior, recipient of a definitive imprisonment order to serve a sentence of 18 years, 9 months and 20 days of imprisonment, as well as a further precautionary measure always for the crime of international drug trafficking.
The investigation, coordinated by the Naples District Attorney’s Office and conducted by the Caserta Police Headquarters Flying Squad, the Naples Sisco and the SCO, with the direct collaboration of Colombian investigative bodies and the operational support of Europol, the DCSA and the Service for International Police Cooperation, has allowed the documentation of the operations of Belvedere, a Caserta broker specializing in the illicit importation of cocaine, who acted as an intermediary between the Colombian cartels and some clans of the Casalesi “Camorra cartel”.
In particular, his capture – which also saw the direct participation of investigators from the State Police on a mission in Colombian territory – came about as part of complex investigations which, also using information extracted from a well-known messaging system in collaboration with Europol, made it possible to ascertain his presence in Colombia where he was active in organizing drug shipments from South America to Europe.
