MONROE, N.C. — Matthews resident Brian Pearce, 52, was arrested on drug trafficking charges late Wednesday night, Oct. 23.
What began as a traffic stop for multiple violations quickly became a drug bust, when K-9 Homer’s sharp nose led Union County Sheriff’s deputies to the narcotics in the vehicle.
A search revealed over 140 grams of methamphetamine and various distribution-related items, leading to Pearce’s immediate arrest.
This isn’t his first trip to the Union County Detention Center as Pearce was previously arrested in 2019 for narcotics trafficking.
Now, Pearce once again faces serious criminal charges, including felony trafficking in methamphetamine. He is being held on a secured $250,000 bond.
Sheriff Eddie Cathey commends all the UCSO personnel involved in this proactive traffic stop and arrest for their professionalism and dedication to the safety of Union County.
