Joby Aviation conducts its first air-taxi trial in Japan
A California-based aviation company successfully tested its air taxi in Japan in coordination with Japan’s Toyota Motor.
Toyota pledged an additional US$500 million into the project with the US firm Joby Aviation in October 2024 to boost its investments in eVTOLs, or electric vehicle take-off and landing. The sector is crucial to Toyota’s goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
