At the end of October, Opera Europa launched a new platform called ‘Opera Europa Next Generation’. The initiative will support emerging artists working in opera and dance in Europe. Active since 2015, the consortium has now grown to 44 organisations from 17 countries.
Ukraine is among the members of the Opera Europa Next Generation Platform. It is represented by the Kyiv National Operetta Theatre, Dniprovsky Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet, Odesa National Opera, Lviv National Opera, and Open Opera Ukraine.
The platform, funded by the European Commission through the Creative Europe programme, will support emerging artists working in opera and dance in Europe starting from January 2025. It will offer onsite and online means to support, train and promote about 560 artists over four years.
The platform will enable artists to build connections worldwide, provide them with knowledge and skills and help them better understand their roles and to engage with their audience.
Opera Europa is one the leading service organisations for professional companies and opera festivals throughout Europe. The consortium started in 2015 with its streaming platform OperaVision. It currently serves over 233 members from 44 countries.
