DOVER, Del. – A Dover man is behind bars on numerous charges stemming from a drug and prostitution investigation.
Over the course of several months, the Dover Police Department’s Drugs, Vice, and Organized Crime Unit, Delaware State Police Human Trafficking Unit, and the FBI Delaware Violent Crimes and Safe Streets Task Force worked together on this investigation, which led to the execution of a search warrant on Wednesday at a residence in the unit block of South State Street. The target of the investigation, 62-year-old James Paz, was taken into custody.
A search of the residence led to the recovery of paraphernalia related to heroin and crack cocaine packaging/use and 13 bags of heroin.
Dover Police charged Paz with maintaining a drug property, possession of heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia, and issued a $3,400 unsecured bail. Delaware State Police charged Paz with two counts of human trafficking – sexual servitude and two counts of trafficking an individual. He was issued an $80,000 cash bail on these charges.
Paz is being held at SCI.
