LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Louisville man was sentenced to almost 30 years in federal prison on drug trafficking charges, the U.S. Department of Justice said Monday.
Jerlen Horton and Chicoby Summers were caught by police in California after nearly two years on the run in August 2023. Police arrested Horton and Summers after a two-hour standoff in Long Beach. The ATF previously said both men are in the Victory Park Crips, a Louisville street gang.
Horton, 30, was sentenced last week to a total of 29 years and six months for numerous felony offenses including conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute controlled substances, possession with the intent to distribute fentanyl, heroin and cocaine, along with possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
According to court documents, Horton was sentenced for conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute over kilogram of fentanyl, more than 250 grams of heroin and cocaine.

Horton and Summers were convicted after a trial in July. Summers is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 10.
