BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A convicted drug trafficker in Boynton Beach is back behind bars after investigators allegedly found lunchboxes packed with something other than PB&J sandwiches.
Boynton Beach Police Department (BBPD) detectives executed a residential search warrant on Charlie Mcroy at his home where they say a master lock key was located in Mcroy’s possession, according to the probable cause affidavit.
According to BBPD detectives, they had observed Mcroy at the storage unit on multiple days for long periods with the door shut before obtaining a search warrant.
Using the key, investigators accessed the unit and found boxes and two lunchboxes. However, instead of food, the boxes contained equipment used for drug trafficking, according to BBPD.

Inside a pink lunchbox, detectives say they located a Smith & Wesson with nine rounds in a magazine and one in the chamber, as well as a box of 40 caliber ammunition and 59 grams of crack cocaine. A black lunchbox sitting beside it allegedly held 1.8 grams of cocaine, 34.3 grams of ecstasy pills, and 3.8 grams of MDMA.
In the unit, detectives also reported finding a USPS box addressed to Mcroy containing glass cookware, a digital scale, plastic wrap, and cocaine residue.
Nearly a decade after his 2015 conviction for trafficking cocaine in Miami-Dade County, PBSO reports show Mcroy faces new charges, including cocaine trafficking, phenethylamines trafficking, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and violation of probation. He remains in custody at this time.
