Some countries not taking academic threats from China, Russia and others seriously enough, MEPs say
“Some European countries are incredibly complacent” about the risk of foreign interference in academia, an MEP has warned.
Speaking in a European Parliament debate she sought on the issue on 28 November, French MEP Laurence Farreng (pictured), a member of the centrist Renew Europe Group, particularly criticised Hungary under the right-wing leadership of prime minister Viktor Orbán in this regard.
