Maine authorities seize nearly 2 kilos of cocaine during Lewiston drug bust
A Lewiston man is facing an aggravated drug trafficking charge after agents with the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency found nearly two kilograms of cocaine in his home.Steven Braggs, 36, was arrested Tuesday after authorities conducted a probation compliance check. Authorities said Braggs was on supervised release as part of a 2015 federal sentence for the charge of felon in possession of a firearm.Maine DEA agents and Lewiston police officers found Braggs at a Lewiston hotel, where 100 grams of cocaine were found in his possession.After Braggs was arrested, Maine DEA agents were granted a warrant to search his Wellman Street residence.The Maine DEA said the search of Braggs’ home resulted in the seizure of 1,878 grams of cocaine, trafficking materials and $25,300 in suspected drug proceeds.Authorities said the cocaine agents seized was worth approximately $100,000.Braggs was transported to the Androscoggin County Jail, where no bail was set because of a probation hold.
