A Belton, Mo., man was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for leading a drug-trafficking conspiracy and illegally possessing a firearm. Serjio Diaz, 40, pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including conspiracy to distribute heroin, methamphetamine, and cocaine. The investigation began in March 2019 when federal agents seized packages containing methamphetamine addressed to Diaz and his brother, Tony. Authorities seized nearly 9 kg of heroin, 166 g of cocaine, 78 g of fentanyl pills, a Glock 9mm pistol, and $82,250 in cash from Serjio Diaz, and 1,128 g of suspected heroin, 28 g of suspected cocaine, two semi-automatic rifles, and various amounts of cash and marijuana from Tony Diaz.Law enforcement conducted 23 controlled transactions, purchasing large quantities of drugs from the Diaz brothers.
