A woman has been seriously injured in a stabbing in Bradford city centre.
West Yorkshire Police said officers were called to reports of a serious assault on Westgate, at its junction with Drewton Road, at about 15:20 BST.
A force spokesperson said the woman was taken to hospital with “significant injuries”.
Officers said a number of road closures remain in place and have asked the public to avoid the area if possible.
The closures affect Drewton Road, Westgate (between Drewton Road and Lumb Lane) and Wigan Street.
The police spokesperson added: “Extensive inquiries are ongoing and local residents can expect to see an increased police presence in the area.”
They asked anyone who witnessed the incident or had any dashcam footage to contact police.
