PRESS RELEASE FROM THE WEST TENNESSEE DRUG TASK FORCE – 28TH, 29TH, 30TH DISTRICTS:
On 9/25/2024 at approximately 0815, Agents from the 28th, 29th and both divisions of the 30th Districts along with Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the United States Postal Inspection Service assisted by the Humboldt Police Department served a drug search warrant for the second time in just over a year at the old Walmart building in the 2500 block of North Central Ave. in Humboldt.
During the search, Agents seized a steroid lab, suspected finished steroids, Tianeptine (A synthetically produced drug that mimics opioids and is also known as Zsa Zsa Red. Tianeptine is A schedule II Controlled substance), marijuana, multiple pills, 6 weapons, 6 vehicles and $21,496.00 in suspected drug proceeds.
One male who was out on bail from the previous warrant’s charges was taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Jail awaiting arraignment on charges of: Possession of a schedule II, III, and IV controlled substances with intent to sell, manufacturing a Schedule III controlled substance, Maintaining a drug location, possession of a weapon during the commission of a dangerous felony and felony drug paraphernalia.
Drug Task Force Director Johnie Carter said, “These Agents all worked as a team for months to get to today’s result and I’m beyond pleased with them.” This is an ongoing investigation and more is expected to develop in the coming days / weeks, added Carter.
The Office of the District Attorney General, 28th Judicial District, Frederick Agee is prosecuting this case and is working with Agents on both the old and new cases as well as advising on the ongoing investigation.
