Strategy shifts focus to understanding “the Earth system as a whole” and addressing environmental challenges

The European Space Agency has adopted a new science strategy for Earth observation, which takes a more holistic approach than its previous work.

Esa is responsible for shaping and delivering various elements of its member states’ space activities, including coordinating satellite launches and operations for Copernicus, the EU’s Earth observation programme.
