EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — Three people will serve hard time for their involvement in a meth ring in Evansville.
Federal officials say 27-year-old Michael Bravo of Conroe, Texas, and 66-year-old George Hartley Evansville have each been sentenced to ten years in federal prison, and that 44-year-old Patricia Latouche of Evansville was sentenced to just over 11.5 years in federal prison.
All three pled guilty to charges of conspiracy to distribute meth. They’ll also each have to serve five years of supervised release after finishing their prison sentences.
According to court documents, the group worked together back in 2020 to distribute over 30 pounds of meth into the Evansville area. Officials say Bravo trafficked meth from Texas to his Evansville-based co-conspirators. After obtaining the meth from Bravo, Hartley would distribute it to mid-level dealers, including Latouche.
“Methamphetamine and other deadly controlled substances have devastating impacts on users, their loved ones, and our communities,” said Zachary A. Myers, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana. “Drug traffickers like these defendants, responsible for pushing this poison from across the country into our neighborhoods must be held accountable for the suffering they cause in search of quick profits. This operation is an outstanding example of the impact we can have with the help of our state and local law enforcement partners. I commend the efforts of the DEA and Evansville Police Department to make our communities safer by getting meth and meth dealers off our streets.”
