Hundreds of properties have been hit by power cuts after a band of heavy rain caused flood warnings.
A yellow weather warning has been issued by the Met Office until 18:00 BST on Wednesday that also covers north-west England.
The forecaster said up to 50-100mm (2-4in) of rainfall was likely, with as much as 150-200mm (6-8in) in some locations.
Earlier on Wednesday, more than 500 properties were without power.
Wind gusts of 75mph (121km/h) were recorded at Capel Curig in Eryri National Park, also known as Snowdonia, as the remnants of Hurricane Lee, which killed one person in the United States, swept over the UK.
The National Grid reported hundreds of homes and businesses affected through the morning in Carmarthenshire.
Electricity supply was was also cut to dozens of properties in Monmouthshire, with 11 in still without power in Catbook.
There were also a small number of power cuts in Ceredigion.
In north Wales, Scottish Power said there were outages affecting properties in Old Colwyn and Cwm Penmachno in Conwy county and in Gwynedd, affecting Bangor, Bethesda, and parts of the Llyn Peninsula.
Natural Resources Wales had 11 flood warnings in place affecting Swansea, Carmarthenshire and Powys.
What is happening on the roads in Wales?
Traffic Wales said the A5 in Conwy county was partially blocked between Bethesda and Capel Curig due to flooding.
In Gwynedd, flooding also cause the A4212 to shut in both directions at from Bala to Fron-goch.
Surface water also caused the closure of the B5106 in Conwy county from Gwydir Castle to the A470 at Bridge Street.
Motorists in Rhondda Cynon Taf were warned of congestion on the A465 near Hirwaun because of flooding on the Rhigos roundabout.
Transport for Wales said flooding at Skewen, Neath Port Talbot, was causing 15 minute delays to train services between the Port Talbot parkway and Swansea, while the service to Llanelli was suspended because of a fallen tree.
There are delays of up to half an hour on Irish Ferries between Pembroke and Rosslare in Ireland.
North Wales Police warned of a road closure on Holt Road in Wrexham, between the Tesco Roundabout and Montgomery, also because of a fallen tree.
Are there weather problems in England?
In south-west England, a handful of properties were left without power.
In Somerset the National Grid reported about 50 properties where the electricity supply had failed. Another 23 were suffering problems near Truro in Cornwall.
No weather warnings are in place for southern England but a warning is in place until 18:00, stretching from Manchester to Leeds and Carlisle is in place further north.
The Met Office issue a yellow weather warning for rain across south east England from 16:00 until 03:00 on Thursday.
