Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) – Kabul: Zakir Jalali, the third political director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, called the recent visit of the Russian delegation led by Sergei Shoigu, Secretary of the Russian Security Council, “an important political development” for the Islamic Emirate.
In a scientific meeting organized by the Department of Strategic Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on “Kabul-Moscow Relations after the Visit of the Secretary of the Russian National Security Council to Kabul,” Zakir Jalali stated that after this visit, relations between Kabul and Moscow will expand by removing the name of the “Taliban Movement” from the list of banned groups in Russia.
He also added that relations between the Islamic Emirate and Moscow have been developing since 2017, with the start of the Moscow format meeting.
Mr. Jalali said: Although relations between Russia and the Islamic Emirate have gone through ups and downs at different stages, an international development has taken place since 2017, when the Moscow format meetings began and the Islamic Emirate expressed its position.
According to him, the path of these relations is moving forward, and it is expected that more positive developments will occur in relations after that.
Zakir Jalali also said that the arrival of the high-ranking Russian delegation to Kabul in recent days has undoubtedly shown its positive effects on the path of Afghan-Russian relations and is an important political development.
According to him, with the arrival of the latest delegation, Russia will remove the name of the Islamic Emirate from the list of banned groups in that country and pave the way for further development of political relations between the Islamic Emirate and Russia.
Zakir Jalali expressed hope that by taking some political steps on the part of Russia, it will lead to great progress in the economic field between Afghanistan and Russia.
The Foreign Ministry official said that Russia has concluded that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as a stable system, can be a good partner for Russia in the region.
Mr. Jalali called the foreign policy of the Islamic Emirate balanced and called the progress in relations with Russia a step towards normalizing bilateral relations that does not worry either side.
It is worth noting that diplomats from various deputy ministries of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were present in this conversation and presented their views on this matter and discussed and exchanged views on various aspects.
