IN RUTLAND JAMES MALONEY N-B-C 5 NEWS THE FORMER BURLINGTON SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER ACCUSED OF TRAFFICKING DRUGS… APPEARED IN A MASSACHUSETTS COURTROOM TODAY. TODAY WAS HIS PRE-TRIAL HEARING. POLICE SAY RIDA KORI WAS ARRESTED ON SEPTEMBER 16TH IN HOLYOKE MASSACHUSETTS BY THE DRUG ENFORCEMENT AGENCY. SPECIAL AGENTS SEARCHED HIS VEHICLE AND ALLEGEDLY FOUND HEROIN OR FENTANYL IN HIS CAR. HE’S ACCUSED OF TRAFFICKING THOSE DRUGS. AND PLEAD NOT GUILTY TO THE CHARGE. HE IS DUE BACK IN COURT AGAIN IN LATE NOVEMBER. KORI GRADUATED FROM BURLINGTON HIGH SCHOOL WHERE HE LATER RETURNED AS ASSISTANT COACH FOR THE VARSITY SOCCER TEAM. HE REPRESENTED WARD 1 ON THE SCHOOL BOARD… AND HAD NO PRIOR CRIMINAL RECOR

The former Burlington school board member accused of trafficking drugs appeared in a Massachusetts courtroom on Thursday for a pre-trial hearing. The hearing only lasted a few minutes. Rida Kori, 24, was arrested on Interstate 91 in Holyoke back on Sept. 16. He previously pleaded not guilty to the felony charge during his arraignment last month. According to court documents, the Drug Enforcement Agency had been investigating Kori for several months. A spokesperson for the Burlington School District tells NBC5 that Kori has resigned from his board position. He posted bail after his arraignment and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 29.
