BUT FOR NOW, WE’RE ENJOYING A BEAUTIFUL SUNSET HERE ACROSS THE AREA. A LIVE LOOK NOW AT THE BIGGER PICTURE SHOWING YOU WHAT’S HAPPENING. THAT COLD FRONT THAT MOVED THROUGH YESTERDAY MORNING WILL NOW ITS POSITION ACROSS THE SOUTH CENTRAL GULF OF MEXICO TO OUR SOUTH AND ACROSS THE FLORIDA PENINSULA, MAKING ITS WAY THROUGH THERE NOW AS WELL. MEANWHILE, WE’RE STILL ON THE BACK SIDE, SO COOLER, DRIER WEATHER CONTINUES TO FILTER IN. HIGH PRESSURE TO THE WEST. ALSO BEGINNING TO BUILD IN HERE AS WELL. THAT’S HELPING TO GIVE WAY TO CLEAR WEATHER CONDITIONS AS THAT HIGH BEGINS TO BUILD IN HERE. NOW TO NORTHERLY WINDS AT AROUND 10 TO 15 MILES AN HOUR. SLIGHTLY BREEZY, ESPECIALLY FOR YOU IF YOU’RE AROUND THE LAKEFRONT AREA. 16 MILE PER HOUR SUSTAINED WINDS. THEIR FINAL NUMBERS TODAY FOR NEW ORLEANS WITH OUR HIGH TEMPERATURES REACHING 58 TODAY. THAT PUTS US THAT PUT US ABOUT TEN DEGREES BELOW THE AVERAGE OF 68 TO THE LOW WAS 51, WHICH IS PRETTY MUCH AVERAGE HERE FOR THIS TIME. OF THE YEAR. RIGHT NOW WE STAND INTO THOSE LOW TO MID 50S FOR YOU ON THE NORTH SHORE, MIDDLE 50S MORE SO FOR THE SOUTH SHORE 57 THERE CURRENTLY AT LAKEFRONT FORECAST FOR THE REST OF TONIGHT. A CLEAR COLD AND CHILLY ONE. LOOK AT THESE TOMORROW MORNING. LOW TEMPERATURES INTO THE LOW 30S FOR YOU ON THE NORTH SHORE. UPPER 30S TO THE LOWER 40S. HOWEVER, FOR YOU ON THE SOUTH SHORE, LOWER 50S CLOSER DOWN TOWARDS THE COAST AND THAT IS WHY WE ARE NOW UNDER WHAT’S CALLED FREEZE WARNINGS IN EFFECT FOR THE NORTH SHORE, AS TEMPERATURES COULD DROP AS LOW AS 30 DEGREES. SO THAT IS GOING TO BE EXPECTED. NOW HERE IT LOOKS LIKE THIS DOES INCLUDE OUR COUNTIES IN MISSISSIPPI, HANCOCK AND PEARL RIVER COUNTY. AGAIN FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT UNTIL 8 A.M. TOMORROW MORNING.
