With a total of €3.6 billion since 2021, the Health cluster of Horizon Europe’s Pillar II is only behind Climate & Energy, and Industry & Space in the funding league table. From this pot, there are three clear winners: Germany, the Netherlands, and France have so far received 34% in total, or around €1.2 billion. Germany is at the top of the trio, with €472 million received across 764 participations.

Participants in the Netherlands have collected only €50 million less than Germany. This has gone to 200 organisations, compared to 294 in Germany. And the Netherlands has won more money than Spain, Italy and France, despite having fewer participants than any of these three countries. Of the top 10 organisations by money received, four are Dutch, and no other country appears more than once.
