A murder investigation has been launched after a 17-year-old boy was stabbed to death in east London on Saturday evening.
The teenager was found on Hackney Road near the junction with Cremer Street just before 23:00 GMT, the Metropolitan Police said.
He died at the scene despite the efforts of emergency services, the force added.
Det Ch Supt James Conway said there had been no arrests.
“My thoughts are with the family of the young person who has tragically lost his life,” he said.
“I can assure them that we will be relentless in seeking to identify whoever was responsible for this murder.”
Cordons were in place in Hackney Road while forensic examination of the scene commenced.
Extra police patrols would be in place across Shoreditch, Det Ch Supt Conway added.
Police said the boy’s next of kin had been informed and a post-mortem examination and formal identification would be arranged in due course.
