A traffic stop on Interstate 22 led to the seizure of 50 pounds of marijuana.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Highway Safety Unit on Friday stopped a Hyundai Electra for a traffic violation, said spokesman Irby.
A subsequent search of the vehicle turned up the marijuana, as well as multiple unused vacuum seal bags and a vacuum sealing machine.
No additional details were released.
April Vaniece Croskey, 41, of Birmingham, is charged with drug trafficking.
She was booked into the Jefferson County Jail at 4:07 p.m. Friday and released the following day after posting $250,000 bond.
The investigation is ongoing.
