White Rock residents are invited to take a closer look at the city’s war experiences at the White Rock Museum & Archives’ annual Remembrance Day exhibit.
Lest We Forget: White Rock During the War Years opened Oct. 22 and continues until Monday, Nov. 11.
“The war years of 1914-1918 and 1939-1945 influenced the lives of all Canadians,” notes a write-up about the exhibition.
The exhibition remembers the people who participated in the war efforts, both overseas and at home, and looks at how the wars impacted all aspects of life in White Rock.
“Thousands of men and women served their country on the frontlines. Many more stayed home in White Rock and served in the workforce, in convalescence, and in voluntary service organizations – wherever they were needed,” the write-up says. “We invite you to explore the history of White Rock at war through the museum’s collection and archival material.”
The exhibit is open Tuesdays through Sundays, 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., until Nov. 11.
