Lewiston brothers accused of dealing drugs
This is not the first time one of the brothers has been arrested on drug trafficking charges
Lewiston police arrested two brothers on drug trafficking charges.Police searched an apartment on Pierce Street Tuesday and say they found “significant evidence” of drug trafficking. Officers seized 12 grams of cocaine base, 10 grams of fentanyl, two guns, including one reported as stolen, and over $15,000 in money believed to be from drug sales.Haji Haji, 26, and Ali Haji, 22, were both arrested and taken to the Androscoggin County Jail.Haji Haji, who was already on probation for unlawful trafficking of scheduled B drugs, was charged with aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs along with a probation hold.In May 2020, Haji Haji was arrested on drug charges after police said he was selling drugs on North Temple Street in Lewiston. When police stopped his car in that case, they said they found more than 80 grams of crack cocaine, 28 grams of fentanyl and almost $1,500 in drug money.Ali Haji was charged Tuesday with aggravated trafficking of scheduled drugs, theft by receiving stolen property and criminal forfeiture.As of Tuesday night, Haji Haji was being held on $15,000 bail in addition to his probation hold and Ali was being held on $25,000 bail.Police said the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives helped in the investigation.
