A 50-year-old man has been arrested after “suspicious items” were found at a flat in the west end of Glasgow.
Residents from two blocks of flats were evacuated overnight after emergency teams carried out a pre-planned search on Broomhill Drive on Thursday.
Glasgow City Council said 26 people had made use of an emergency rest centre in Partick.
Police Scotland said the street had been reopened but a cordon remained in place at the property as a precaution.
Another rest centre will be in operation on Friday at Partick social work office on Church Street.
A force spokesperson added: “The majority of residents have been allowed back into their homes however a small number of properties remain evacuated.”
Emergency services including a hazardous materials support unit and members of the armed forces, attended the incident on Thursday.
Glasgow City Council said evacuated residents would continue to be supported by its health and social care officers.
A spokeswoman said: “Twenty-six residents visited our rest centre set up in Partick Burgh Hall last night.
“Three were provided with emergency accommodation whilst the others made alternative arrangements.
“We will continue to liaise with Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and will respond to any developments.”
The 50-year-old man will appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court later.
