A man who has recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease has written a song to remember his love for his wife.
Mick Smith is a country singer, from Syston in Leicestershire, and performs at dementia support group, Thrummy Drummers.
He wrote the song, Always Together, for his wife of nearly 60 years, Diana, in the week he was officially diagnosed.
Mr Smith said: “It’s so important to me that we are together.
“If she went out of my world now, I wouldn’t be carrying on.”
