DETROIT – The leader of a large drug trafficking ring in Michigan has been sentenced to decades in federal prison.
51-year-old Ricardo Delgado was found guilty in June by a federal jury of multiple drug-related charges, including possession with intent to distribute cocaine and fentanyl, possession of a machine gun in a drug-trafficking crime and more.

According to authorities, Delgado was involved in a wide-ranging drug ring that imported cocaine and fentanyl from Mexico to be distributed across Michigan’s Thumb.
Prior to his arrest, Delgado was seeking retaliation for the theft of his drugs from a subordinate and he ordered that subordinate to exact revenge.
Authorities seized nearly 30 pounds of cocaine, more than four pounds of fentanyl, 12 guns and more than $200,000 from his home.
Delgado was sentenced to 60 years in federal prison on Wednesday, Nov. 13.
