Several people were arrested on Sept. 24 following a drug roundup led by Pikeville Police Department. There were 13 individuals indicted and police made five arrests, while eight of those individuals were served with charges while already incarcerated.
According to a Pikeville Police Department statement, a total of 4 ounces of methamphetamine and 2 grams of fentanyl was seized along with one rifle and $800 in cash.
“The reason for the roundup was to arrest local drug traffickers in the Pike County area.” the statement said. “These were individuals who were involved in drug trafficking investigations or indicted by a grand jury in Pike County on Wednesday, Sept. 18. We’re trying to tame the drug epidemic the best that we can with the resources that we have available.”
Those arrested on indictment warrants include:
• Joe Lester, Belfry, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine);• Heather Ramsey, Zebulon, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (fentanyl);
• Amy England, Zebulon, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (fentanyl);
• Trista Worrix, Robinson Creek, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine);
• Sara Brown, Shelbiana, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (fentanyl);
• Ben Burgess, Shelbiana, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance 1st fentanyl;
• Eric Long, Coon Creek, Trafficking in a controlled substance (fentanyl);
• Elijah Childress, Pikeville, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (fentanyl and methamphetamine);
• Justin Reed, Mossy Bottom, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine);
• Jacob Hopkins, Pikeville, Trafficking in a controlled substance 1st fentanyl.
• Timmy Beavers, Island Creek, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and endangering the welfare of a minor;
• Chris Raspberry, Red Creek, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine); and
• Robert Caylor, Pikeville, first-degree trafficking in controlled substance (methamphetamine).
Additional people who were arrested on Sept. 24 during the drug round-up include:
• Joseph Edmonds, Frozen Creek, parole violation;
• Kerrie Branham, Frozen Creek, hindering apprehension and resisting arrest; and
• Bobby Kendrick, Ratliff Creek, probation violation.
