The son of a former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lineman pleaded guilty to several drug offenses after a four-month, multi-county drug trafficking investigation.Our partners at the Trib said 27-year-old Cortez Marcell Haselrig was arrested in June 2022 after he attempted to sell raw fentanyl to an undercover officer in Ligonier. The Trib said Haselrig had “enough raw fentanyl for 2,500 single doses of the drug, with a street value of about $90,000” when he arranged to meet with a confidential informant in a Giant Eagle parking lot. He was arrested as he attempted to leave the scene with “50 grams of the drug and more than $1,600 in cash,” the Trib reported. Investigators said Haselrig was an “upper-level drug dealer,” being a “major supplier of fentanyl in Westmoreland County” up until his arrest, the Trib said. Haselrig appeared in Westmoreland County court on Monday, where he pleaded guilty to four felony counts of drug charges, possibly facing up to 16 years in prison. Haselrig is the son of Pro Bowl offensive lineman Carlton Haselrig, the Trib said, who played with the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1989 though 1993. Carlton Haselrig died in 2020.
