MUSKOGEE —A Stilwell man has been sentenced to time served on one count of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma said Nakiah Twobear Eagle, 27, was sentenced to 60 months in prison. The charges stemmed from an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Adair County Sheriff’s Office.
On March 25, 2024, Eagle pleaded guilty to the federal firearms offense. According to investigators, on Aug. 30, 2022, an Adair County Sheriff’s Office investigator conducting a routine traffic stop discovered Eagle to be in possession of a loaded .22-caliber semiautomatic pistol, along with 732.8 grams of methamphetamine, which Eagle intended for distribution. Eagle knowingly possessed the firearm in furtherance of his trafficking of methamphetamine, prosecutors said.
Chief District Judge Ronald A. White, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, presided over the sentencing hearing. Eagle will remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshal Service pending transportation to a designated U.S. Bureau of Prisons facility to serve a nonparoleable sentence of incarceration.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Rachel Geizura prosecuted the case.
