SACRAMENTO, California — Kavieo Daeshaun Lee Wiley, a 28-year-old from Stockton, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for conspiracy to manufacture and distribute drugs and possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Dale A. Drozd on November 12, 2024, according to U.S. Attorney Phillip A. Talbert.
In May 2019, Wiley sold 4,000 methamphetamine-laced pills to a confidential source at a music studio in Stockton, which belonged to co-defendant Jamaine Dontae Barnes, a 42-year-old from Stockton. During a federal search warrant execution at the studio, agents found Wiley with a loaded assault-style rifle concealed nearby. The search also uncovered large quantities of fentanyl and methamphetamine-laced pills, materials for pressing pills, and a loaded handgun, according to court documents.
The case was investigated by multiple agencies, including the Drug Enforcement Administration, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Stockton Police Department, among others. Assistant U.S. Attorneys David W. Spencer and Emily G. Sauvageau are prosecuting the case. Co-defendant Jamaine Barnes and four others await sentencing, while charges against Jamar Deontae Barnes are pending with a jury trial scheduled for December 2, 2024. The investigation was part of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces initiative.
