It followed a tip-off from an undercover officer that a pickup truck loaded with hard drugs was arriving through Chiang Mai. Bodycam footage shows officers exchanging gunfire with the suspects, who later managed to escape after abandoning the vehicle.
Police said a search of the truck uncovered nine sacks stuffed with 110 bags of crystal meth, each weighing 1kg (2.2lbs).
