A woman has been remanded into custody after being charged with murdering her ex-partner.
Helen Shakespeare, 53, appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, charged with murdering Raymond Groves, 48.
She was also accused, alongside unnamed others, of conspiracy to murder, the court heard.
Ms Shakespeare, of Strawberry Fields, Easterton, spoke only to confirm her name, address and date of birth during the brief hearing.
Prosecuting, Kate Prince told the court: “The Crown’s case is that she stabbed her ex-partner at her home address which resulted in his death.”
Presiding justice Amanda Lee said the case was being transferred to Winchester Crown Court and Ms Shakespeare would next appear on Tuesday on 9 July.
Wiltshire Police said formal identification had not taken place but the man who died was believed to be Mr Groves, from Hartcliffe, Bristol.
Police were called to an address in Strawberry Fields, Easterton, near Devizes, Wiltshire, shortly after 20:00 BST on Tuesday, after reports that a man had been stabbed.
Police are also questioning a man in his 30s on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident.
A woman in her 20s was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and has been further arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder, police said.
Police said the investigation “remains ongoing”.
